Rebuilding More Than a Building
When a tornado moved through Moss Point, Mississippi, it left a significant path of destruction throughout the community, damaging and destroying buildings throughout the city. Among them was the original M&M Bank building on Main Street. In the aftermath, M&M Bank made a meaningful decision: to stay, rebuild, and continue its commitment to the Moss Point community.
WAV Architects was honored to help bring that vision to life through the design of a new branch on the original site. The new building was designed to reflect the scale and prominence of the original bank while creating a fresh, contemporary presence for Main Street. The 6,000-square-foot branch also includes a 1,200-square-foot community meeting room, providing a dedicated space for local organizations and community members to gather.
For us, this project is about more than a new building. It represents resilience, continuity, and a commitment to place. M&M Bank’s decision to rebuild in Moss Point is an investment in the community and its future—and we are proud to have played a role in bringing a renewed landmark back to Main Street.
